About Us
Eagle Academy first opened its doors in September of 2001, serving just 55 students in grades K-4 with only six staff members. Located on Monroe St. in Central Toledo at the time, Eagle Academy grew to 300 students by its second year, adding 5th grade and many more staff members.
In 2005, Eagle Academy moved to its current location on Consaul St. in East Toledo. The new building and new leadership started with 115 students that year in grades K-6. The following year, it expanded to 130 students in grades K-7. By 2008, Eagle Academy was serving 200 students in grades K-8, and 250 students in 2009. Continuous growth by the 2009-2010 school year allowed the school to begin offering special classes, such as art, PE, and foreign language, additional after school clubs, activities, and sports, as well as additional support through full-time Title 1 teachers.
By the 2010-2011 school year, enrollment had soared to over 300 students. Eagle Academy had officially outgrown its building! The decision was made that year to add a second Eagle Academy site, to split the school into two campuses: Eagle Academy Elementary (remaining on Consaul St. and serving grades K-5) and Eagle Academy Secondary (located on Idaho St. off of Navarre, serving grades 6-9). Eagle expects to continue growing each year to eventually serve students in grades K-12.
Eagle Academy is a free public community school, managed by The Leona Group, LLC, and sponsored by the Ohio Council of Community Schools.
