Eagle Academy's mentoring program, which incorporates Service Learning Credit for secondary students, was recently honored by the Project MORE founders. Eagle Academy staff were invited to present a session at the 2013 Project MORE Conference in Bowling Green on Monday, May 20. The session outlined Eagle's program for secondary students and how it has impacted student achievement.
For the 2013-2014 school year, Eagle Academy will continue to offer Service Learning Credit for Eagle Secondary students who enroll in the Project MORE program. In additon, we will be partnering with RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) to recruit more volunteer reading mentors. As always, Eagle Academy welcomes parent and community members to volunteer as reading mentors as well. The minimum required commitment time is 30 minutes per week for one semester. Full training and materials will be provided. Please contact Mrs. Hunt at Eagle Elementary for more information.
