Special guest readers came to Eagle Elementary to read to our students on March 14 at Family Fun Night. Families made crafts, ate snacks, received free books, and students listened to stories read by Mr. Trevor Walsh from Buckeye Community Hope Foundation, Mr. Sid Kelly from 92.5 KISS FM, and Mr. Ross Ellet from 13abc, and Ms. Shannon Kane, our school leader! Thank you to all of our special guests and to all of our families for supporting this event. You can watch a video of Sid Kelly reading here. For more photos, visit our Facebook page!
Congratulations to Ashanti, who represented Eagle Academy at the Blade Northwest Ohio Championship Spelling Bee at Owens Performing Arts Center on March 14! She did a fantastic job and we look forward to watching her compete again next year. You can read about the winners here.
The week of March 18 to March 22 we will be having a spirit week as a fundraiser for our Pennies for Pasta campaign!
If your student would like to participate in each day’s spirit wear they must pay 50¢ each day. Your student can choose to pay daily or pay for all/some of the days in advance. Their money should go directly to their teacher first thing in the morning. We are trying hard to reach our school goal of $1,000 so please encourage your student to take advantage of this fundraising event! You can read more about the Olive Garden's Pennies for Pasta campaign and how the money raised helps support children with lymphona and leukemia here.
Spirit wear will be:
Monday- Pennies for Pajama’s-Pajama Day
Tuesday- Cancer is whack!-Wear the wackiest outfit you can find!
Wednesday- Team Up Against Cancer- Wear your favorite team jersey/t-shirt/sweatshirt
Thursday- Caps for a Cure- Wear a hat/baseball cap
Friday- Fight cancer with your favorite color- Wear your favorite color. Each type of cancer has a specific color ribbon.
Eagle Academy Elementary and Secondary are now re-enrolling our current students for next year. The re-enrollment period will be open from March 4 to March 22. Forms will be sent home with all students by the end of the week. Please fill out and return your forms as soon as possible. You MUST complete a re-enrollment form in order to reserve a space for your child for the 2013-2014 school year. All of our elementary and secondary classes fill up quickly, so PLEASE complete an enrollment form even if you are not sure yet which school your child will attend next year. Elementary classrooms that return 100% of their re-enrollment forms by Friday, March 22, will be rewarded with an ice cream party.
Enrollment will be open to the public after March 22. Current students and their siblings are given priority, but only if you return your form before March 22! Our classes filled very quickly last year, so make sure you re-enroll early to reserve your space.
There will be a Kindergarten Round-Up on April 2 at the elementary for ALL new kindergarteners registering for the 2013-2014 school year, including siblings of current students.
If you are unsure about where you will be living or which school your child will be attending next year, please complete and return the re-enrollment form anyway to save your place. It's better to have a space and not need it after all than to not have a space and need it later!
A huge thank you to all of our parents for choosing Eagle Academy and for your support throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
Parents of students who will start kindergarten in August 2013 are invited to attend Kindergarten Round-Up on Tuesday, April 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Eagle Academy Elementary cafeteria. Parents will be able to fill out enrollment packets and learn about kindergarten learning expectations. Bring your almost-kindergartener in for fun activities and take a tour of the kindergarten classrooms! Each enrolling child will receive a free school bag full of school supplies to help him/her get ready for the very first day of school!
To complete enrollment and secure a kindergarten place for your child for the 2013-2014 school year, please bring the following documents with you to Kindergarten Round-Up. If you are not able to attend on April 2, please bring these to the school office any time during school hours and fill out the enrollment packet.
· Your child’s birth certificate. A birth record will not be accepted.
· Your child’s Social Security card.
· Your child’s immunization record.
· TWO proofs of residency. The only documents that will be accepted are the following: gas bill, electric bill, water bill, or lease.
