Unfortunately, as a result of several factors, a majority of middle school and high school students have a negative attitude toward mathematics.  Therefore, one of my primary goals as a teacher is to help my students develop a love, desire, and appreciation for mathematical knowledge.

Parents:  Regardless of your child’s current ability level, I will teach your child at their level.  I will help your child recognize the value of learning all of the different ways numbers can be broken apart, put back together, and reorganized.  Your child will also learn a variety of strategies for representing numbers in order to make convincing points and arguments.

A note on bullying and respect in my classroom:  Not only will your child feel safe in my class room, but your child will feel respected as well.  Even less severe forms of disrespect like interrupting is absolutely not tolerated.  In my classroom your child will feel comfortable and have a voice.
