Project MORE (Mentoring in Ohio for Reading Excellence) is a scientifically research-based volunteer reading mentoring project that has demonstrated statistically significant reading results since 1999. Originally designed to improve the reading skills of students with disabilities, the program has expanded over the years to include any student needing additional support as part of the Response to Intervention process. Today, Project MORE is being used in over 250 schools in Ohio, with many districts combining Project MORE with service learning courses to benefit both high school students and elementary students.
Project MORE is coordinated by the Putnam County Educational Service Center and funded by the Ohio Department of Education's Office for Exceptional Children.
Parents and community members are also invited to volunteer as reading mentors at Eagle Elementary. Please contact Mrs. Hunt for more information.
